On November 8, 2018 the Howard University College of Medicine Surgical Interest Society will be hosting an event titled "HUCM Surgical Interest Society Presents: The Surgical Legacy...Excellence of Performance" in honor of the College of Medicine's 150th Anniversary.

The HUCM Surgery Interest Society is hosting this celebratory event to honor the role of Howard University as a leader in educating, training, and recruiting surgeons of the African diaspora since 1868. Students, faculty, alumni, and guests are invited to learn about this legacy from panel of surgeons as they reflect on their time as medical students, residents, and/or faculty at Howard University.

To give the audience an opportunity to ask the panelists questions, the Surgery Interest Society has created a form where you can submit said questions. Please be encouraged to submit questions here.

The interest society is also looking for photos from surgeon alumni to be featured in a mural/slideshow for the event. Photos from all avenues of your career are welcome.

If you have photos that you would like to be included, please email them to with "Photos for the Surgical Interest Society" in the subject line.
