  • "I believe in the power of uplifting others. As someone who started from very humble beginnings with a hard-working single immigrant mother, I've benefited immensely from others who have helped uplift me. I can't wait to give back and help other people in similar situations, as a Family Medicine physician."

  • "As a child, I grew up in Coney Island (Brooklyn, NY), and one of my favorite pastimes was racing with my friends in the park. It was an amazing way to clear my mind, feel a sense of freedom, and release my energy in a fun and productive way. At the age of 12, I dislocated my left arm while running and attempting to break my fall. Through this experience of recovering from a dislocated shoulder, I noticed the care the physicians took in explaining to myself and my mother the importance of keeping my arm stabilized and consistently attending my physical therapy sessions. I realized the significance, in a very simplistic sense, of the importance of the health of the musculoskeletal system in being able to accomplish daily activities and was the beginning of my exploration of the field of Orthopaedic Surgery."

  • “I plan to take advantage of the opportunities and good fortune that have been bestowed upon me and give back to a community from which I have taken so much. Ultimately, I would like to not only continue the legacy that Howard has cemented, but to advance it further by becoming one in a long line of caring, and competent health care professionals."

  • “I had the most fun at my Howard Interview. I searched for a school with a real family heartbeat--a place where people are supportive of each other and lift each other up. This is exactly what I found my first day at HUCM,"...

  • “I have a heart for the underserved due to my own socioeconomic struggles--being raised by a single mom, as well as my belief that healthcare providers have a duty to help all patients regardless of their circumstances,”...

  • “The difference with Howard is that we are dedicated to serving the community and underserved populations. Even though myself and my classmates have different interests and might go in different directions, we are all willing to help and give back, which creates commonality and a real family atmosphere.”...

  • “This past year, standing in anatomy lab as we cleaned up and got ready for summer, it hit me, that I was standing in a room of 100 people who would become doctors with me,"...
